About Me
Childhood.
I grew up in Danbury, CT — one of the most diverse cities in America Which taught me the beauty in our differences and the shared drive to better ourselves and the people around us.
I feel like I was the last kid to play outside from dawn to dusk. Skateboarding, biking, football, basketball, lacrosse, wrestling, and soccer; these days you’ll also catch me golfing, playing volleyball, or tennis. As a Trojan, I idolized Reggie Bush and dreamed of being a running back. I wasn’t naturally gifted, so I started in the trenches, nose tackle on defense and guard on offense, but through hard work, dedication, and perseverance I earned my shot: I became a solid high-school running back and went on to play linebacker at Central Connecticut.
College.
In college I learned not just to work hard, but to work smart. I studied Exercise Science to understand the why behind training — the physiology, the programming, the recovery — and finished with a 3.7 in-major GPA. That education shaped my approach: use science to maximize results.
My physical therapy internship taught me how to get people moving again after injury or surgery — the power of eccentrics, how to activate and relax muscles so the whole body works together. But I found my passion in cardiac rehab, helping patients after cardiac events rebuild confidence through cardio and smart strength. I’ll never forget the wins: “I picked up my grandkid for the first time!” “Stairs aren’t so bad anymore.” That’s when the spark hit. I decided to be proactive — to catch people before the hospital — and make it my mission to get as many people moving as possible. I can’t decide how long you live, but I can help you increase your quality of life by increasing your capability to maximize life’s opportunities.
Darkest moment, strongest mindset.
One month. 60+ lbs lost. 14 blood transfusions. A total colectomy — and three more surgeries ahead. The good thing about time is it never stops; there’s a moment when it’s over and you look back and say, “wow.” That’s true for a hard workout or bigger events. In 2021 my health changed suddenly: one week I was enjoying Disney, the next I was in a hospital bed going through all of the above. I lost a lot during that time — blood, weight, my colon, a relative, a relationship, my muscle — but I kept the most important thing: me. My mindset. My strength. In my darkest moments, I wouldn’t trade places with anyone. I appreciated the prayers, but I couldn’t be more blessed than to have my mindset. 14 days after my last surgery — on April 14th — I ran 14 miles (not recommended). That day I learned life is limitless.
Philosophy.
I’m different from most trainers: I don’t love exercise — I love what exercise does for you. We use training as a tool, not an identity. Get in, work hard and smart, get out — then go enjoy your life. The foundation is simple: JustMove. It’s never “what can’t you do”; it’s what can you do today and how we build from there. I program with future you in mind: today, 3 months, and 30 years down the road. Our lifestyles are mostly inactive, so training must be sustainable — built so you can keep doing it for life.
Virtual.
In my mission to get as many people moving as possible, I stayed open-minded to virtual training — and now I see how good coaching and accountability unlock consistency anywhere (and the jokes with clients are a plus). My life and mindset created the pillars of Lft, but there’s no “I” in team, so there’s no “I” in Lft. BePartOfTheMovement!
