How To Navigate Thanksgiving!

You don't need perfection, you need momentum

8 Tips to Stay on Track This Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a time to gather, eat, and reflect. But it’s also one of the easiest times to lose momentum with your health goals. This article isn’t about guilt or restriction. It’s about strategy. And keeping your body and mind in motion through the holidays.

Here’s how to stay on track:

🥗 1. Eat in the Right Order

Start with salad or soup. Then eat your protein (like turkey) first. Follow that with complex carbs like stuffing or potatoes. Sweet stuff like cranberry sauce comes last.

Take a break, go lay down, and when you wake up, ask yourself: “What’s the one dessert I really care about?” Pick it and enjoy with black coffee. It helps digestion too.

🍷 2. Wait to Drink

If you’re going to have alcohol, wait until your main meal. Drinking while eating slows the buzz and keeps you more mindful. It’s not about restriction. It’s about rhythm.

🍎 3. Apple Cider Vinegar Before Meals

Take 1 tbsp of ACV in water 10 to 15 minutes before eating. It may help with digestion and how your body absorbs nutrients from the meal. Not magic. Just support.

❌ 4. Decide What’s Worth It

Not all holiday food is worth your energy. Ask: “Would I eat this if it weren’t a holiday?” If it’s meaningful, enjoy it. If it’s random store-bought junk, skip it.

🍴 5. Handle Leftovers with Intention

Leftovers aren’t bad. Mindless grazing is. When it’s time to eat, put protein on your plate first, then add the sides that matter to you. Sit, eat, and move on.

🏋️ 6. Lift Something Heavy

Your body’s fueled. Use it. The day after Thanksgiving is perfect for lifting heavier, going for more reps, or setting a new goal. Strength today makes fat loss easier later.

🏃‍♂️ 7. Add Cardio

Walk more. Sprint. Do a HIIT workout or sign up for a local 5K. Movement helps digestion, clears your head, and keeps momentum going through the weekend.

🧠 8. Don’t Spiral

One meal isn’t the issue. It’s what happens after. Don’t turn one plate into a lost weekend. Get back to your routine the next day. Hydrate. Eat real food. Train. That’s it.

Keep It Moving

These aren’t rules. They’re reminders. You don’t need perfection. You need momentum.

Stay Strong. Eat Intentionally. Be Part of the Movement.
