Happy 4th of July !!! Thank you to all who strive to make this Country Better!

Staying on Track During 4th July Festivities

Independence Day is a time to celebrate, relax, and enjoy great food and company—but it doesn’t mean you have to derail your progress. Here are 6 simple tips to help you enjoy the holiday and stay on track with your goals.

1. Decide What’s Worth It

Not everything deserves a spot on your plate. Choose the things that are truly worth it. Maybe it’s your cousin’s homemade peach cobbler—not a random store-bought cookie. Be intentional with your choices. Just because it’s there doesn’t mean you need to eat it.

2. Handle Leftovers Like a Pro

Have a plan. Decide how many meals you’ll have that day, divide your calories accordingly, and track a few key foods to stay mindful. Want to keep it elite? Start each meal by weighing out your protein first—then add whatever leftovers you want (yes, even cake). Fewer meals = more calories per meal, but more meals = more control.

3. Lft Heavy

Use those extra calories to fuel strength gains. This is the perfect time to push yourself in the gym—heavier weight, more reps, more power. Building strength now will make it easier to shed extra pounds later. Get your workouts done first thing in the morning!

4. Add Cardio (and Make it Fun)

Cardio doesn’t have to be a chore—especially during a holiday weekend. Run a little farther, add some HIIT, or just get moving! Join a game of volleyball, frisbee, or tag. It all counts.

5. Save Dessert for After Your Workout

Eat sweets strategically. Don’t start your meal with dessert and avoid them late at night. Try having dessert post-workout instead—yes, even at 7:00am if that’s when you trained. Your body will thank you with better recovery and less fat storage.

6. Bounce Back Fast

If you overdo it, don’t spiral. One heavy meal won’t ruin your progress—but turning that into 2-3 days off track will. Don’t try to overcompensate. Just get back to your routine with your next meal or workout.

Bonus Tip: Just Move and Share the Fun

Whether it’s paddleball, a swim, a BBQ dance party, or simply a walk—just move. Movement is medicine. And while you’re at it, share your 4th of July fun with us! Post it, tag us, and inspire someone else to get moving.

Stick to the Lft standards: no refined grains, no refined sugar, no fried foods. And yes, we’ll look the other way on alcohol—as long as you don’t overdo it or wake up regretting it.

Enjoy the holiday, stay strong, and Be Part of the Movement.

The feedback was powerful. Patients reported feeling better and moving more freely.
